Lee Du Ploy
It is said you can smell a whiff of the African plain in Lee's work, reflecting the fact that his family has been in Southern Africa over 400 years. In spite of his training and traveling with the various cultural influences, his work still very much contains an African feel.
Over the last few years Lee has started a research program; looking at the correlation between brain activity and the impact of art or creativity.
He has written a book with this concept in mind with portraits of the various people that he worked with as a therapist.
He has won numerous prizes, had his work exhibited at the Royal Academy summer exhibition, as well as having pieces in a number of museums including the Johannesburg Art Museum.
